Fertility Smoothie: Gingery Mango + Berry
A wholesome (banana-free!) smoothie of mangoes, berries, lime, ginger, and coconut, with a hint of spice from cayenne. Satisfying, delicious, and packed with vitamins and nutrients! Mango and strawberries are folate-containing fruits. It is recommended that women who are preparing for pregnancy should consume 400-800 mg of folic acid daily, starting one month prior to trying to conceive. Bananas and raspberries are all delicious ways to add zinc to your diet. Research conducted at Northwestern University indicates that just prior to peak egg fertilization, the egg requires as much as 50 percent more zinc before it can move forward in its developmental journey. This means that maintaining an adequate supply of zinc is beneficial if not critical. Chia seeds contain Omega 3’s, Fiber, Iron, Antioxidants, Magnesium, Calcium and Potassium. The fertility boosting seeds help provide energy, fight inflammation, reduce sugar cravings and regulate blood sugar levels benefiting those with PCOS.
